Lumby Community Garden
The Lumby Community Garden began the planning and construction of the 24, raised beds (4 of which were higher than the others to accommodate for participants who might be on scooters) in early March 2010. Construction of the Lumby Community Garden would not have been possible without the support of many businesses, organizations and community members (including 4 youth); most of which volunteered their time and/or resources. The planting of the 24 beds, “occupied” by 22 seniors, adults, young parents and even the pre-school started in mid May 2010 and the 24 beds continue to be fully utilized each year since then!
