Our Counsellors
Valerie, BSW, Clinical Supervisor Valerie has over 18 years experience in supporting individuals and families to overcome challenges in their lives, embrace their strengths and resiliencies, while envisioning their hopes and dreams for the future. She has raised 8 children and enjoys 24 grandchildren. Valerie is Metis and has worked extensively with Indigenous people and understands the importance of cultural competence and safety. Her experience includes assisting others challenged with their relationships, poor mental health, addictions, grief, trauma/ intergenerational trauma, parenting, family violence and child protection involvement.
Sharon Storms, BSW, MSW has over 15 years experience supporting children and families and working in a school setting. Sharon focus' on collaborating as a team to find solutions to the challenges children and families face. She focus' on capacity and strengths to create solutions to the challenges the individuals she supports experience. A lot of her experience is in play therapy and working with children who have experienced trauma, anxiety, and who struggle with self regulation. She has extensive experience working with school personnel (teachers and administrators) and parents to create plans for children's social, emotional and academic success.
Jenni Radmacher (she/her), BSN, MACP is a Master’s level counsellor who has established treatment protocols for nightmares, PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and many other conditions. Jenni is an active therapist that teaches and demonstrates many techniques and tools to help people manage their struggles and improve their ability to cope. Jenni was a Registered Nurse with over ten years of experience, so she also works well with individuals with chronic health conditions and psychiatric conditions. Jenni is a safe person to talk to about sexual health and she is passionate about sex and couples therapy. She provides LGBTQIA+, kink, and polyamory-affirming counselling.

- Solution focused therapy
- Visual based therapies such as Imagery Rehearsal Therapy (for nightmares) and imaginal exposure therapy (for trauma and phobias)

Craig Renfrew, CACCF, CIAC, CCPCPr is a registered Substance Use Counselor certified through the CACCF as a Canadian Certified Addictions Counselor & a Certified Indigenous Addictions Counselor. His area of focus and passion is Substance Use Counselling. He work with adults and youth. Craig's goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and trusting space where you can make changes in your life and stand beside you as you take this journey. He is on your team.
Making changes in life is hard work. It takes courage, willingness, struggles, vulnerability, and trust to go through this. At this moment in your life, you may not trust anyone including yourself and that’s OK, I get that! If there’s a little bit of you that can trust the process, then you can begin to trust yourself.
Tonya Ciccone, BSW has over 10 years’ experience working in various therapeutic settings including, provincial health care systems, non-profit, and private practice. She is nearly finished completing a master's degree in social work at the University of Calgary. She has been a Registered Social Worker for 10 years in BC and Alberta. Her work experience is with Mental Health, Addictions and Forensics, her specialties are group facilitation, trauma recovery, body image/eating disorders, with a specific interest in youth transitioning into adulthood/young adults.
Tonya counsels from a strength-based, client-centered, harm reduction, and holistic approach. Her own lived experience guides her practice while also utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities tailored to the unique needs of each individual. Some of these modalities include but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Somatic Experiencing Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems.
Family Support Program
A family counselling program that assists the whole household. Parents, teens and/or children.
Funding support for the Family Support Program provided by MCFD.
Adult Counselling
Free, short term counselling available for a variety of issues including communication skills, anger management, marital, grief and stress.
Funding support for the Adult Counselling provided by United Way of BC and “We acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia.”
Community Living Support Program – Mental Health
A community service for adults affected be serious and persistent mental illness that provides individual support to enhance day-to-day living and the quality of life. Referral by Vernon Mental Health (250) 549-5737 or call Jenni or Valerie at 250-547-8866.
Addictions Counselling, Information and Prevention
The purpose of this program is to provide individual and group counselling services to youth and adults in the Community of Lumby and surrounding area who are experiencing issues related to substance misuse.
Funding support for the Community Living Support, Mental Health and Addictions Counselling provided by Interior Health
School Based Outreach
School Based Outreach is available to children, youth and their families at J.W. Inglis Elementary School, Charles Bloom Secondary School, CrossRoads and Cherryville Elementary. The Program goals are to help improve student attendance, increase parent/caregiver involvement, improve student performance and engagement, and enhance school social functioning. Students can access the support through school referral.

It is Whitevalley's mission to promote the health and well-being of those in our community. Thanks to MCFD, Interior Health, Community Gaming and United Way, we are able to offer counselling services free of charge to those living in and around Lumby.
